H5P empowers everyone to create rich and interactive web experiences more efficiently. All a content creator needs, is a web browser and a website with an H5P plugin. There are currently more than 40 H5P content types for development of interactive content, and the H5P technology integrates with WordPress, Moodle, Drupal, Canvas and many more of the most used content and learning management platforms.
H5P is a completely free and open technology, licensed with the MIT license. This combination of open source code and a platform-agnostic implementation, makes H5P both adaptable and adaptable for new projects that want to supercharge their content development process.
H5P makes it easy to share and reuse HTML5 content. 30 of the H5P content types are WCAG 2.1 AA compliant, making the content accessible for visually impaired users.
H5P has a large global user base. This has led to a strong community of developers and organizations using H5P to develop their services and web applications. Our technical community will focus on coordinating the development of new content types and curate documentation for technical development and content development. We will focus on documentation that is not already covered by the H5P core team to avoid duplications of their work.
Our community goals
- Improve the coordination of technical development between different organizations as new content types and features are developed
- Support organizations that are doing technical development with updated guidelines and technical documentation
- Support organizations that are developing H5P content with updated tutorials for specific content types, as well as more general guidelines for licensing, accessibility, design, usertesting and metadata.
